Marking 20 Years of Metador

Established in 2004, we have been supplying industrial, commercial and residential doors nationwide for 20 years, designing thousands of doors for all sectors and situations.  

Our wealth of expertise enables our Technical Team to respond effectively to challenging, complex design briefs, while our wraparound Customer Support Teams and Special Projects Team provide an extra level of service.  

Reputed for our high-quality and technical competence, we continue to push the boundaries of steel-door manufacture to provide best-in-class steel door solutions.  

Metador continues to go from strength to strength. This year we will double our manufacturing space, grow our teams and expand our industry partner network to bring more co-created pioneering designs to market.

Our purpose

Our background

Metador didn’t set out to shake-up the industry, but since 2004 that’s what we’ve been doing.  

Our success is built around the belief that things can always be improved. 

When we started our business, we fitted other company’s doors, this provided us with real insights and an understanding of what works and what doesn’t. We identified that many door solutions don’t live up to our exacting standards, and so we set out to design our own that would, and learnt a lot along the way. 

We started by making the frame stronger by bolting the corner fixings, we dramatically improved the insulation with a rockwool core, and as most standard steel skins are not secure enough, we made ours even stronger. Our Defender range was the result. 

Since that time, we have continually evolved our door solutions to ever-improve quality and performance, to ensure the best solution for the precise and challenging requirements of the build projects we supply to.
