The Defender Thermaguard doorset has been developed to meet the increased demands for energy-efficient buildings as part of a greener future.

The Defender Thermaguard doorset uses a range of design innovations that reduce the U-value of a typical single doorset to as low as 1.4 W/m²K, meeting the latest requirements of the Building Regulations Part L in England, Scotland and Wales. Defender Thermaguard is accredited by a UKAS approved company as defined by the requirements of BS EN 10077-2:2017.

Door Leaf

• 1.5mm galvanised steel skins

• Internal steel strengtheners

• 60mm depth minimum door leaf to achieve a U-value of 1.5 W/m²K

• 70mm depth minimum door leaf to achieve a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K

• Anti-jemmy flange or square edged leaf option to suit requirements

• Large number of glazing options available to be incorporated

• Mechanically fixed ensuring strength and rigidity.

Thresholds

• 2mm stainless steel profile

• DDA compliant

• Available as outward, inward opening and ramped.

Over Panels/Side Panels

• Single/double glazed, louvred or solid

• Fixed or removable for maximum access.

Frame

• 2mm galvanised steel

• 110mm depth minimum door frame to achieve a U-value of 1.5 W/m²K

• 120mm depth minimum door frame to achieve a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K

• Profiled headers and vertical posts fixed with strong M8 bolts ensuring rigidity, superior to welded or riveted frames

• 16no threaded adjusters, compensating for most structural opening irregularities

• Unique perforated frame design (UK Patent Pending) complete with insulation

• No need for shims or packers, providing an extremely secure fit.

Seal

For optimum weather, thermal and acoustic performance, a tubular silicone/rubber is bonded into the frame rebate to ensure effective sealing of the door/frame gap.

• 4no stainless steel hinges for smooth operation

• Dog bolts secure the leaf into the frame if hinges are attacked

• A huge range of locks, latches, lever handles, panic hardware, closers and stays available

• Lever action flush bolts in leading edge of the inactive door leaf available with double doors.

• Powder-coating available in any RAL or BS colours

• Marine-grade option
